Reviving British textiles

British woollens are the finest in the world, which is why we exclusively source all of our cloths in Great Britain ensuring all our garments are both functional and long lasting.

We pay tribute to the British Textile industry that can date its birth back as far as the 1760’s. Situated at the convergence of the rivers Colne and Holme the Inhabitants of the West Yorkshire town of Huddersfield discovered that the water which flows from the Millstone Grit Pennine hills, produced excellent results when washing the raw wool.

Demand for the area's textiles flourished and at the height of production could boast up to 284 mills, employing around 160,000 workers in the West Riding area of Yorkshire.

James Levett is absolutely passionate about reviving British Textiles, working closely with our mills to select the world's finest quality cloths that were once the choice of Kings and Princes alike.

Considered Details

At James Levett we believe in the importance of considered details, choosing the right trims such as genuine horn and mother of pearl buttons is an instrumental part of our design process and greatly enhances the overall look of the suit.

Each button has unique characteristics and these natural buttons, apart from looking better, are stronger and more durable.
